Weight is so personal and so complicated. When I joined a sorority in college, I saw girls on all sorts of diets. Some swore that eating tuna for lunch was the trick; others swore that morning workouts, plus smoothies, were the only way. As I transferred into the working-world, the same ideology of these rules manifested in different ways: water before every meal, nothing to eat before 7 PM, hot yoga to cleanse extra fat. So what really works?
I can tell you what hasn’t worked for me: diets. Anytime a diet is applied, I want to do the opposite. But what I can tell you, what has worked for me, are these five tricks and tips. What these tricks and tips have done is given me a baseline vs. a diet. From these, I have been able to maintain my weight, and experience weight loss in my 30's.
